The Not-Quite-Ides of March
Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 08:23AM Eagan, you keep bringing the brains and I'll keep supplying the trivia. We had a really tight contest last week with a tie for first and a few points difference between third, fourth and fifth. Let's see you take it to the next level tonight. I'm predicting a three-way tie for first.
Here's your double dose of daily questions:
#1 Thursday the 15 is the ides of March, made famous for the assassination of Julius Caesar. What does ides, or its latin root idus, mean in English?
#2 What videogame console maker is based in Kyoto, Japan and got its start as a playing card company?
Now for your winners!
In first, breaking a tie, Bus Drivers!

In second place, losing the tie, Bimbo. They were the only team that aced the image round.

In third place, Turbine Trio!

In fourth, a team with a black spot, Team Pipe.

And finally, a gigantic team that proved two many heads make for difficult trivia: Donna/Jamaican Bobsled Team!

That'll do it for now, Eagan. Look up those puzzlers and I'll see y'all tonight.
