Henson's homies

Thirteen teams went head to head at trivia last night for the title of most smartiful in the bar. In the end, just a point or two separated the winners from the losers, and it was the teams that knew Jim Henson's homies that came out victorious.

A whole round was devoted to Henson's homies last night, with questions about the man behind Yoda (it's this guy), and this sweet movie from my childhood, and this TV show that has not stood the test of time. We also talked about Colonoel Sanders' secret fried chicken recipe, celebrity autobiographies and so much more. Good times were had by all.

The sound round last night featured songs with whistling in em. I'm guessing you, my trivia friends, have at least one of those tunes stuck in your head today. Me? I can't stop humming "Don't Worry. Be Happy." Think I need to Spotify the "Cocktail" soundtrack this weekend. My poor, poor neighbors.

Friends, I had another revelation at trivia last night thanks to our team formerly known as Ryan Renold's Abs (whose name is now too long to type every week).

You guys, I had a revelation last night at trivia.

In “Beat it,” Michael Jackson is singing “Showin how funky strong is your fight.”

God. I never knew what the hell he was saying in that part of the song. I guess I just usually mumble through that when I sing “Beat it” in my car. Or in the shower. (Heh heh.) But I won’t mumble through anymore. Nope. Cause now I know the words. Thank you, Trivia Mafia.

We had a number of teams showing how funky strong their fight is last night at trivia. I only wish we had resorted to a dance off for the tie-breaker.
