4.30.13 Nice weather does not preclude bar trivia

We had one last evening of lovely weather before the cold rain/snow hit, and a few folks decided to spend that time in a bar playing trivia. And they were glad they did! But isn't it going to be great when they get that patio finished? We can play trivia AND be outside. What fun!

tongith we learned that, in general, Tuesday trivia is harder then Thursday trivia. You don't hear questions about Pagliacci on Tuesdays! But that's why we're all so smart. In fact, let's take a look at this week's smarties:

4.16.13 Six Month Anniversary Edition

Can you believe it's been six months since we started this trivia thing at Granite City? Crazy talk. We've learned a lot over these past six months.. Keep the round themes simple or you can make an entire bar very angry very quickly, the genre of Hip Hop essentially doesn't exist in the city of Maple Grove, and NEVER let a trivia team build up momentum! Tuesday people messed that last one up as they finally allowed 4th Dream Deep to jump into the lead. These guys are on a 4 week streak on Thursdays, one can only imagine what they can accomplish if they start running both nights each week. Not to say they didn't have competition for the top spot, barely edging out Fat Kids are Harder to Kidnap by virtue of tiebreaker. Both teams had 50 points, we couldn't even imagine that six months ago. Check out all of our intronet superstars below!

4.9.13 Afraid of Snow

Snow in April? Funk that! This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps. Or something like that...

The bar was dead tonight, as was the sound system, which sucked, but I got to spend lots more time with each of our teams, and that was precious.

Unfortunately I spent so much time chatting with you all that I forgot to take any pictures of you. So everyone is a little less famous on the internet this week. Except for the one guy on the winning team who was on JEOPARDY last firday. He's totally more famous, internet or otherwise. Which also explains why he won. His friends won too, but since he didn't win jeopardy, we'll let him take credit for this win.

And now, let's imagine what these teams might look like:

First place- What the Book of Mormon. They might have been on jeopardy, but it sure isn't their grammar that got them there.

Second place- 4th dream deep. You guys know what they look like. Now just imagine them a little sadder, because they're only in second place.

Third place- The New Guys, aka Fashionably late. This was nothing like regular trivia, so you guys should come back another time and see how it's usually done.
