We had some drizzly weather this past Wednesday, but it was summer as usual inside the bar. We had 41 teams keeping it hot and steamy.

Every once in a while my favorite fact about a certain item will change. My favorite fact about orchids used to be that they were symmetrical.... After Wednesday night my NEW favorite fact is that the name orchid derives from the Greek word for “testicle” because of the shape of its root. Favorite fact change.

We had 32 teams show up and make trivia happen! My favorite round tonight was #5 "Shut Up, B!" five questions with answers that had silent B's. As an individual that has BB as her initials it is hard for me to keep silent. B's are great no need to put them on a word and keep them quiet. That's insane. With out B, you wouldn't have Beautiful, Baby, Bounty and the best B world of all Bacon. B Loud and Proud. But none the less we had such words as succumb, aplomb, and catacombs represent the silentest of b's.

My siblings are all a bit older than I am and of course I wanted to be just like them in true younger sister fashion. This included watching gremlins at an in appropriately young age. Like 6 or under. That movie scared the shit out of me. I couldn't go in our porch because I thought that is where the gremlins lived and ate children my sized. This fear lasted a log time. I still have problems going into that porch and being ok with life. I also think this contributed to why I could never own a Ferby. Ah memories and irrational fears brought to the surface through harmless trivia questions

When I was young I was a big fan of the show Full House. I wanted to be DJ Tanner. I even changed my name for a day in kindergarten to DJ. Short lived but still a sign of fandom. I had a Full House chapter book that I asked my dad to read to me one day. He knew how much I loved Full House that and thought it would be funny to switch the names around. Oh how it angered me. He would call Uncle Joey Gladstone, Joey Happystone. A sarcastic swap, but at age 6 it infuriated me. What also infuriates me is that very few teams got the "what is Uncle Joey's last name in Full House" question right. Come on people. Well pin a rose to your nose.
